Festival Fashion Inspiration

Just because we didn’t attend Coachella, doesn’t mean we can’t use the eclectic and boho fashion vibe that takes over Palm Springs, California as inspiration for our own personal style. Destroyed denim, maxi dresses, flower crowns and wide brimmed hats were just a few of the most worn trends over the duration of the two-weekend music festival. Here are a few trends we’re loving that can totally be incorporated into your own wardrobe, whether there’s a Coachella ferris wheel or not.

The Coachella Style Queen herself, Vanessa Hudgens, was shot sporting some amazing statement pieces, featuring an arrangement of different patterns. If pattern isn’t your thing on a day-to-day basis, try pairing a patterned piece with a basic, such as plain denim or solid colours. You’ll be sure to capture that ‘I-just-danced-all-night-to-Lana-Del-Rey’ vibe without drawing too much attention to your patterned pieces.

Vanessa also takes the wide brimmed hat from sun bathing grandma to chic and festival-ready. Not only will it help you stay protected from the sun, but also brings an added boho vibe to any outfit.

It’s no secret that kimonos are a hot trend for the upcoming warmer weather. These Coachella babes integrated a super flowy and summery feel into their outfits with patterned and solid coloured kimono pieces. Our fashion tip: take your plain high waisted denim and crop top outfit to the next level with a fun pattern or coloured kimono to add some extra spice! festival fashion 3

Oversized graphic tees are not only the comfiest tee you probably own, but can also add a grunge-y feel to any look without much effort on your part (which I know we all appreciate). Pair it with a mini skirt, denim or short-shorts and you’re set for summer (or Coachella). Oversized tees also provide opportunity to get creative in terms of how you want to wear it. Knot it to the side, chop the sleeves off and transform it into a muscle tee or wear it tucked in – so many options to get creative and express your own style!

Good luck and we’ll see you at Coachella 2015! (Fingers crossed)
