Top 5 Places to Study in Toronto

Now that it’s back-to-school time, students are looking for some new places to study. Every university student eventually has that day where they think, “I can’t spend one more hour at the library.” Luckily, Toronto has some of the coolest coffee shops downtown that are great for doing work and studying. So, when you get tired of spending endless hours at the library, switch things up by visiting some of the city’s best library alternatives.

The Tampered Press (256 Crawford St) is a charming coffee shop in Little Italy that will remind you of sitting in your kitchen at home. It’s a great place to gather for group meetings because of their communal tables, and you can take breaks to play the board games they offer. You won’t feel out of place studying here, as it is the place is always packed with students.

R Squared on Queen West (668 Queen St W) is perfect for studying, with lots of tables  large enough for your computer. This coffee shop is quiet enough to do your work, and they also sell delicious sandwiches and soup for when you get hungry.

Jimmy’s coffee in Kensington (191 Baldwin St) is a nice place to go when you have some light reading to do. It’s a little noisy here, so bring your headphones.

The Green Grind, also in Little Italy (567 College St), is a peaceful café with huge windows that give you that outdoorsy feeling. They have lots of food options for vegetarians and those with gluten allergies.

Seven Grams in Yorkville (171 Avenue Road) makes beautiful lattes that are almost too pretty to drink. It’s a cozy environment in a great location, perfect for catching up on some work. They also have a great selection of healthy treats to snack on while you study!
