Tips For Healthy Hair

Between using flat irons, curling irons, permanent straightening, etc., there is a lot that we do to damage our hair. No girl will ever listen to their hair dresser when they say “stop using a blow drier and iron everyday!” – it’s just not gonna happen. So here are some things to DO and NOT to do for your hair.

What TO do

10) Use heat protection spray before blow drying
9) Brush your hair before showering, not directly after
8) Let your hair air dry on its own for a bit and then blow dry
7) Hairspray only once hair is completely DONE being styled
6) Clean your brush out every time you use it
5) Eat more of these foods: salmon, eggs, sweet potatoes, spinach, whole grains and Greek yogurt
4) Get a trim every 3 months or your dead ends will add up
3) Take Biotin – a vitamin that promotes healthy hair and nails
2) Put a pump of Moroccan oil on the ends of your hair
1) End your shower with cold water – it will make your hair smoother

What NOT to do

Do Not…

10) …tie your hair in an elastic when it’s wet
9) …towel dry your hair – use a cotton t-shirt instead
8) …wash it everyday
7) …rub conditioner on your scalp
6) …go over the same pieces of hair with a flat iron
5) …touch your hair all day long – your hands are dirty which is damaging to your hair
4) …cut off your split ends – wait to have your hair cut professionally
3) …brush your hair when you have hairspray or mousse in it
2) …smoke cigarettes – bad for your overall health and hair health
1) …start brushing from the root – brush out the bottoms first and then move up
